While millions struggle with the cost of living, public services are stretched to breaking point and too many people can’t afford a decent home, the government is choosing to spend billions more on the machinery of war.
The Defense Investment Plan would see military spending rise to almost £80 billion a year by 2029.
Britain doesn’t need another arms race. It needs investment in people.
We call on the UK Government to:
– Stop increasing military spending.
– Invest in the NHS, housing, education and public services instead.
– Put diplomacy, peace and international cooperation ahead of militarisation.
Our future should be built on hope, not fear. On people, not war.
