Rock Against Racism at 50: With King Toadfish and Bukky Leo

A celebration of fifty years of Rock Against Racism with Bukky Leo and King Toadfish.
Bukky Leo has been at the forefront of London’s jazz and African music scenes since arriving in the UK in 1982 – carrying with him the endorsement of Afrobeat’s founding fathers, Fela Kuti and Tony Allen, who he performed with in Nigeria.
King Toadfish & the All-Weather Riders are a community music collective from East/North-East London, going for 30 years, playing a mix of ska, dub, klezmer, blues, and funk. Several members of the KTF were involved in RAR in its heyday.… read on ...

Waltham Forest Independent Socialist, Election, Mega Canvass

We were out in force last weekend, thirty people attended our ‘Mega Canvas’ on Saturday, and another eight people on Sunday. We are getting a great response on the doorstep, but we feel the only thing that will affect the result is people knowing we exist.
So it is crucial that everyone gets involved in canvassing. As one person on Langthorne Road said to our candidate, Sue Cattan: “At last, a party worth voting for. You have definitely got my vote.”
