We are a coalition of community groups who have come together to support progressive candidates for the May 7th council elections in Waltham Forest.

The idea for this coalition started in early 2025, with local groups coming together to talk about how we might support each other’s campaigns and put pressure on the council to deliver a fairer borough.

We realised two things:

1. We are strongest when we work together. While it is easy for the council to dismiss our groups individually, we have more power, more influence and more resource when we join forces.

2. Although the issues our groups

Labour’s time in office has been a disaster. Starmer promised change and delivered cuts, broken promises, and snouts in the trough. Left unchecked, Labour will deliver us into the hands of Farage.

But an alternative is taking shape. With the Green Party making gains and Your Party in the process of establishing itself, alongside independents winning in local government, the Left has a real chance to become a serious force again.

We Deserve Better exists to support strong socialist candidates to get elected, whether from one of the political parties or none.
